Interested in doing something good for the body and soul that doesn’t require running shoes, a gym membership, or scheduling an appointment with a therapist? Try being grateful! Here at MARKETLINK, we’re implementing a 10-day Gratitude Challenge. We’re setting a goal to take a few minutes every day to express gratitude.
There are so many benefits of expressing gratitude. Psychology Today lists seven proven benefits:
- Fosters resilience
- Improves self-esteem
- Improves sleep
- Enhances empathy/reduces aggression
- Improves psychological health
- Improves physical health
- Opens door to more relationships
Reaping the health benefits just means getting a little more in touch with your feelings and noting what made your day a little better.
Here’s the challenge: Starting November 19 through Thanksgiving, take a few minutes every day to write down what you feel grateful for. It can be a simple word. Or a rambling paragraph. It’s up to you how, when, and where – but do it every day. At the end of ten days, make a self-check. Do you notice any changes to your mood, health, or relationships? Maybe you’ll want to continue with your regular notations.
