The world-class Multispecies Animal Learning Center (MALC) at Ohio State University serves as a core for teaching, research, and engagement for the agrarian community. Wellogy serves as the architect for this project, creating an oasis for both animals and learning within the urban fabric of Columbus.
At 130,000 SF, the new state-of-the-art design replaces outdated structures with specialized barns, a multipurpose arena, labs, teaching spaces, and areas for public engagement, expecting to attract 70,000-100,000 visitors annually. Its utility as a showpiece provides an immersive learning experience for university students, K-12 students, and the community at large, fostering workforce development for the diverse range of careers related to working in animal agriculture. Construction is scheduled to begin this year.
