What’s your role at MARKETLINK, and what does your day-to-day look like?

As a consultant, I provide business development support and strategic guidance to several MARKETLINK clients. I work closely with Keri Hammond and each client to understand their goals and help advance them in a clear, strategic way. A typical day includes virtual meetings, market research, CRM updates, networking and industry events, and close coordination with both clients and the MARKETLINK team.

 

What’s the accomplishment that feels most meaningful to you?

 

What stands out most to me is the opportunity to build and sustain relationships across the AEC industry. It’s a supportive environment where teams learn, grow, and develop projects together. Being trusted with insight into upcoming projects and the forces shaping them is a privilege I value deeply.

 

How did you get into the AEC industry, and what continues to inspire you?

 

My interest began when I was a teenager, fascinated by the built environment—the juxtaposition of older and newer buildings and the spatial relationships that shape our communities. That curiosity led me to pursue a degree in architecture. While I’ve always worked on the business side of the industry as a marketing professional, that early fascination continues to inform my work today.

 

Who has been an important mentor or influence in your career?

 

Each phase of my career has come with its own mentors, often the leaders of the firms where I’ve worked. They pushed me to understand the business, focus on strategy, and better support the work of their organizations. Equally influential have been my peers—colleagues in similar roles across the industry. Professionals like Keri Hammond, Lori Haglund, Julee Attig, and many others have grown alongside me. Together, we’ve built a network that supports personal and professional growth, and one I hope serves as a model for those entering the industry.

 

What’s a favorite team moment at MARKETLINK?

 

One memorable moment was a virtual team meeting where so many talented faces filled the screen. It was a clear reminder of the depth and range of expertise across the MARKETLINK team.

 

How do you stay motivated when work gets challenging?

 

I remind myself of the privilege it is to work alongside the firms that partner with MARKETLINK. They’re working hard to achieve their goals, and I get to support them in that effort. When I need perspective, I take a walk with my dog—it’s a simple way to reset and put challenges into context.

 

If you weren’t working in the AEC industry, what might you be doing?

 

I’d likely still be connected to the AEC world, but on the client side. I’m very interested in development and learning more about the details behind how projects come together.

 

How do you like to celebrate a big win?

 

I enjoy celebrating meaningful achievements with my family—usually by going out for a special dinner or event and spending quality time together.

 

What advice would you give to someone starting out in the AEC industry?

 

Know that what you bring to the table matters. Add your voice, ask questions, and be an active part of the team. While the industry is competitive, it’s also highly supportive. The partners you work with today may be competitors tomorrow, and mutual respect strengthens the industry as a whole.
