Indonesian Wayang Kulit Pierced Hide Hand Fan with Horn Handle milk pitcher I picked this fabulous lThis Indonesian fan I believe dates to the very early 20th century, and, like traditional Javanese shadow theatre puppets, is made of finely pierced and painted hide parchment, most likely buffalo skin. At the center is a Wayang Kulit shadow puppet figure rendered in gold with with black details. The handle is carved black horn, extending up along the edges and attached by thread wound through pierced holes. Quite a wonderful thing, which indeed casts
