On the side of the chop is incised text, which may once have read "CHINA" backwards (now it reads "HINA"); underneath on the base are Chinese characters. I believe it dates from the early 20th century. Fully functional as a stamp if inked or pressed into a wax seal, it is also just a great little object to have sitting around. This
