Instituted on 7 June 1815 by King Friedrich Augustus 1. Second Model. (Issued 1891 1918). A white enameled Maltese cross with narrow gold edging, in silver, centre obverse presenting a separately applied gilt crowned Saxon coat of arms in coloured enamel, circled with gilt, surrounded by the inscription FRIED.
