Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of a first pattern jawless Danziger style Totenkopf, the reverse retaining both attachment prongs, unmarked, measuring 32. 98 mm (w) x 29. 64 mm (h), weighing 3. 3 grams, a first pattern example also used as a traditions badge by some Heer units, missing one of two attachment prongs, in better than very fine condition.
