Constructed of an aluminum shell with a toned field grey exterior paint scheme, featuring a retractable lid situated on a swivel hinge and fastening closed with a frontal clip, flanked on each side by eyelets retaining an aluminum handle, the lid opening to reveal a plain and hollow interior, the exterior marked with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and maker code M6 11 39 indicating late prewar or early wartime manufacture,
