Presenting as a bronze Latin cross with a laurel wreath between its arms, the obverse depicting a leftward facing bust of Frederick Augustus III circumscribed by his name and title, the upper and lower arms of the cross depict the Saxon crown as well as the date 1915 respectively, the reverse is inscribed with the crowned royal monogram of Frederick Augustus III, the arms inscribed WELTKRIEG (World War), marked with letter S on
