Sudan, Republic. An Order of the Republic, Grand Officer's Set, by Garrard & Co, c.1960 consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac hand etched laurels( ,). Instituted 16 November 1961. Star of the order in silver with dual layered stars, each featuring 13 individual rays, with centre piece presenting white enamel with the inscription "Democratic Republic of Sudan" in dark blue and surrounded by the colours of the flag of the Democratic Republic of Sudan, reverse with central pin assembly, measuring 95 mm, with toning to silver, extremely fine. Accompanied by the neck badge of the order, also with
