Constructed of silver, consisting of a cross with a crown at the end of each arm and the Royal Cypher of GRI in the center, the reverse is plain, on a fixed loop and swivel ring for suspension from its period original ribbon featuring a ribbon bar and horizontal pinback for attachment to a uniform, unmarked, measuring 43. 8 mm (w) x 48. 1 mm (l), weighing 27. 55 grams inclusive of its ribbon,
