A First War period German brooch constructed from a gilded piece of an artillery shell driving band, featuring a black enamelled Iron Cross to the right and a branch of oak leaves and acorns to the right, the reverse presents a horizontal pinback, measures 34 mm (w) x 12 mm (h), and in overall very fine condition.
