Germany, Imperial. A Pilot’s Badge, By C.e. Juncker, C. 1917 consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac England on December 27(Flugzeugfhrerabzeichen). Constructed of silvered brass, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, surrounding a depiction of a monoplane flying over a rural landscape, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture by C. E. Juncker, Berlin, measuring 45. 36 mm (w)
