Albert Memorial, London Holy Roman Empire It was created in 1720Albert Memorial, London, 20th Century. The memorial to Prince Albert, consort of Queen Victoria, was erected in Kensington Gardens near to the Albert Hall. George Gilbert Scott won the competition to design the memorial and it was unveiled in July 1872.
