France, Iii Republic. An Order Of The Legion Of Honour, Commander Newly Listed Scotian on December 24(Ordre National de la Lgion d'Honneur). Type VIII (1870 1951). In silver, a white enamelled Maltese cross with ball finials, a green enamelled laurel and oak leaf wreath in each quadrant, the center silver gilt medallion features a right facing profile of Marianne surrounded by a blue enamel ring inscribed REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE 1870, the reverse medallion bears two crossed French flags, surrounded by a blue enamel ring HONNEUR ET PATRIE, the badge is
