Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Duchy. A Saxe-Ernestine House Order Medal of Merit Newly Listed worn on replacement ribbon with(Silberne Verdienstmedaille des Herzoglich Sachsen Ernestinischen Hausordens). Instituted 25 March 1833 by Duke Friedrich of Saxe Altenburg, Duke Ernst I of Saxe Coburg and Gotha, and Duke Bernhard Erich Freund of Saxe Meiningen. (1895 1905). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from a period replacement ribbon, the obverse bearing a rightward facing profile of Duke Alfred of Saxe Coburg and Gotha, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse
