Constructed of bronze, the obverse depicting an Iron Cross that is dated 1870 1871 in the center within a wreath, the reverse reverse bearing the crowned royal monogram of Wilhelm, inscribed Dem siegreichen Heere and Gott war mit uns, Ihm sei die Ehre in Gothic lettering, measuring 29. 10 mm in diameter, suspended from its mounting via its period original ribbon, with a zink core, a black wool backer, and a
