Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Latin Cross, the obverse with a central leftward facing profile of Friedrich August III circumscribed by name and title, the six oclock arm with a date of 1915, the twelve oclock arm with a royal crown, the reverse with a central monogram of Friedrich August III, flanked on the three oclock and nine oclock arms with an inscription of
