Instituted 24 June 1884 by King Ludwig II. (1884 1918 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze, with a period original ribbon stitched around its backplate, the reverse with a barrel hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked WEISS & CO., MNCHEN, measuring 43 mm (w) x 36 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
