In bronze, a lozenge shaped decoration with ball finials at each point, the obverse features an open padlock with broken chains and two cannonballs, surrounded by the inscription LA LIBERTE CONQUISE LE 14 JUILLET 1789 (Freedom Conquered July 14 1789), the reverse bears a sword with a wreath around the middle of the blade, surrounded by the inscription
