Do not pre wash. 100% cotton Finished size approximately 12" x 12". The design is printed on one half of the sampler. You can stitch through both layers for a little heavier fabric if using it for a quilt square or pillow and add your own backing. Or you can stitch through a single layer and use the attached piece for the backing. In Japan, the samplers are stitched through both layers,
