A fine early example, dating from the Crimea War, in toned silver with Gold center, star has seven triple quills with small crescents and stars between each quill, obverse shows Sultan Abdul Mejids royal cipher surrounded by an inscription, reverse with name hand scratched into the plain field, inclusive of crescent moon suspension 48. 33 mm (w) x 68. 18 mm (h inclusive of moon suspension), on original silk ribbon, very fine
