Germany, Third Reich. A 40-Year Civil Service Faithful Service Medal, With Case, By Deschler & Sohn Archive Knee-deep mud(Treudienst Ehrenzeichen fr 40 Jahre). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938 1942 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, consisting of a Cross Patte with pebbled arms, the obverse with a central black swastika, the reverse with a central inscription of FR TREUE DIENSTE (FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE), with an oak leaf wreath through the quadrants of the cross, unmarked, measuring 41. 41
