The Fairey Flycatcher was a carrier borne fighter plane in service with the Royal Navy between 1923 and 1934. Launched in 1924, HMS 'Eagle' was sunk by German submarine U 73 in August 1942 while engaged in Operation Pedestal, the convoy taking vital supplies to Malta.
