Captain Peter Strasser, German airship fleet commander, World War I Size:XL: 90 x 60cm was erected in 1888 butCaptain Peter Strasser, German airship fleet commander, World War I, 1916 1918 (1933). Strasser (1876 1918) was commander of the German Navy's fleet of Zeppelin airships during the First World War, directing bombing campaigns from 1915 onwards. He was killed on 5th August 1918 when his airship, Zeppelin L70, was shot down over the Norfolk coast.
