It belonged to Oberwachtmeister (Senior Constable) Karl Baumgartner, born on January 28, 1902 in Straubing (Bavaria), a recipient of the War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords. Measuring 105 (w) x 152 (h) mm, with light fraying and creasing of the cover, period repair of the spine, as well as two punched holes in the front cover, remains better than very fine.
