Instituted 13 November 1933 by Franz Seldte. (1933 1939 issue). Constructed of silver with enamels, the obverse consisting of a black enameled medallion, overlaid by a raised Stahlhelm insignia, situated above a silvered date of 1931 topped by oak leaves, the reverse with a crimped hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch emanating from a circular plate, engraved with a unit
