A Totenkopf Cap Insignia, Second Pattern, by Overhoff & Cie consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac documented on September 21(SS Mtzenabzeichen). Constructed of cupal, the obverse consisting of a second pattern SS style Totenkopf, the reverse marked with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and maker code M1 24 for Overhoff & Cie, Ldenscheid, measuring 31. 66 mm (w) x 29. 34 mm (h), weighing 2. 8 grams, demonstrating moderate loss of finish throughout the obverse base metal in addition to the loss of both reverse attachment prongs, an early example in very fine condition.
