Germany, Hamburg. A Life Saving Medal, C.1918 consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac measuring 45 mm (w) x(Rettungsmedaille). Instituted in 1918. In silver, marked "SILBER" (silver) on the edge, measuring 36. 5 mm in diameter, very dark patina, very light contact, missing its ring suspension, replacement ribbon, near extremely fine.
