Inscribed: 'C. Grignion Pinxt. Wm. Pether Fecit. Wm. Coxe, A. M. F. R. S. Fellow of King's Coll. Cambridge, born March 18. 1746.' Inscribed in pencil lower left '1782'. William Coxe was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1782. Original: mezzotint. ca. 1784
