The ground-dove and the pellitory, or tooth-ach tree Finish:none The instrument was made by'Turtur minimus guttatus', the ground dove, with the leaves and flowers of 'Zanthoxylum spinosum', the pellitory or tooth ach tree (Catesby's identifications; modern scientific names: Columbina passerina, the common ground dove; Zanthoxylum clava herculis, the toothache tree, Hercules' club, pepperwood or southern prickly ash).
