British tank 'Britannia' on Fifth Avenue Size:XS: 40 x 30cm elevation and ground plan ofBritish tank 'Britannia' on Fifth Avenue, New York City, USA, c1917 c1918. Passing in front of the Flatiron Building. The tank was in New York to aid the Liberty Loan drive. Liberty Loans were war bonds sold in the United States from 1917 1918 to support the allied war effort. Americans were encouraged to buy the bonds as their patriotic duty and they raised around $17 billion.
