This very cute small slatted one has a few screws augmenting the nice old nails joining slats to sides

at the age of 19

it is mid-century in style and was purchased from an estate sale that included a great collection of mid to late 20th century ceramics and studio pottery from Japan

but due to a split along one edge a couple of tiny nails were added as reinforcement

(Nothing on it opens or closes, and I can't figure out another purpose it would have served.) Rolls of stamps were first issued in 1908, and I would think this dates to not much after that.
