I've taken to ordering new listings via a free association process--hence I'm listing these handmade tree stump candleholders following a carving of Abe Lincoln

There are a couple of hairline cracks on the the palette side that run all the way through the wood and which look to have been carefully repaired some time ago

I believe this one dates to the 1940s-50s

There's an old wire at the top for hanging

Something about those carved out cat eyes combined with the faintest hint of a frown make it look very human, and rather as if plotting a coup while remaining entirely close lipped about it! And the darkening and old water stains to the dry wood add a sense of shadiness or mystery, as if this cat were lurking
