I found this old carved pine whimsy the other day in New Hampshire

super smooth and I think naturally this variegated warm brown and near black

and with a lid that actually matches it

producing the same scale a semitone higher in each hole

French "Coiffure de Opium Perle" Portrait Drawing, Framed greco-roman I found this old carvedI believe the hand written text at upper left of this drawing reads "coiffure de opium Perle" meaning opium pearl hairstyle and indeed it is the combination of lace and pearls on her head, cross on ribbon chocker at her neck, and those wing like lace shoulders that really sold me on this. Very early 20th century I would think and clearly French, with a face to match. A fun one to hang near the vanity I would say! 15" x 12" framed, as found. Drawing
