Exceptionally crafted from head to toe, and I find this old doll tremendously expressive and fantastically beautiful; really, he just breaks my heart. The head, hands and feet legs up to the knees are all super sensitively hand carved and painted, his wool shirt and pants beautifully tailored, and then white woolen undergarments underneath (I have not tried to remove his clothing underneath; photos show what I can easily see.)
