Holla Old Fellow Take a Chew, Early 19th C. Lacquered Papier Mache Snuff Box doll chair though it is so distinctive

though it is so distinctive and beautifully decorated I think I'd be more inclined to treat it as a design object than to drink out of it--I  might put it to use as a small planter

so am not quite sure of the age of this piece

who signed and dated this in 1889

Of a great scale at 25 inches long x 11 3/4" t x 3/8" thick

Lacquered Papier Mache Snuff Box doll chair though it is so distinctiveI'm so often struck by the playful the use of language on 19th century objects, from snuff to Battersea boxes, and on transferware pottery, too. This snuff box I believe dates to the 1820s or so, as I've found a few other examples with gold text of a similar ilk, and I especially love seeing the use of "Holla" on this one! Pretty fun. 2 7 8" x 1 3 4" x 3 4". Good condition, with a little surface lost on the face, as evident. Great structural condition.
