Fabulous Mid 19th C. Mustard Grain Painted Stool with Fancy Legs 1970s prison art 4 3/8" beak to tailPhotos do no real justice to this one between the mustard paint and graphicness of the grain painting, it delivers a terrific visual punch. The thickness of the top, combined with the very curvaceous forms of the legs make it feel almost like something else entirely too I keep thinking of the classically inspired deconstructionist postmodern architecture of Charles Moore, say, but also somehow of de Chirico paintings, and also Cubist collages.
