The view shows a Stourbridge brick dome and is based upon Apsley Pellatt & Company's Falcon Glassworks at Holland Street, Blackfriars, London. The scientist Michael Faraday FRS (1791 1867) used the factory to aid in his researches into optical glass during the 1830s.
