Another Scarce, Complete Nesting / Stacking Box Set in Rainbow Spectrum pottery vase but in fact was framed

but in fact was framed out--quite a lot of effort for a small house

and on a great solid wood base

without lid the basket measures 5 1/2" across

My guess is earlier than later 19th c

Another Scarce, Complete Nesting / Stacking Box Set in Rainbow Spectrum pottery vase but in fact was framedI never find these old nesting stacking blocks, but then I found two complete sets in as many weeks! I don't believe I've ever seen such elongated rectangle shaped ones as these, though which make we want to have another more squarish set on hand to arrange in combination! Well loved, with the most paint loss to the rims, as should be the case, and I think is all to the good. I'll never say no to a set of these, good in so many ways. Red, largest box
