This little folk carving of a figure in coffin--blue shirt

but look at how much effort went into that cap and blue wool sailor's suit

I've been thinking about this piece

I will ship the rooster tomorrow night. Yours truly." And then at top, "I will ship by Express." I can't quite read the signature, but the recipient seems to have been a Mr. John Ass. (?) The photo is a bit dark, but pretty fabulous, complete with a trophy exactly at the center, above which one rooster is precisely perched one assumes the first prize winner,
