50% fermented in stainless steel and 50% in old Burgundy barrels and aged on the lees for nine months
muscular and tension-filled flavors that possess fine delineation on the youthfully austere
offering concentrated cassis and cherry compote flavors accented by exotic allspice and black cardamom nuances
Ballot Millot, Volnay Santenots Size:6x750ml The acidity is crisp (9(from young vines situated in Les Plures; this had just been bottled when I tasted it). A background hint of volatile acidity is present on the otherwise pretty and fresh aromas of cherry, raspberry and spice. The sleek, delicious and acceptably concentrated middleweight flavors possess good power and solid length though the firm finish seems somewhat awkward, which may be due to the very recent bottling.
