This painting is signed by G. E. Ducasse in the lower right and inscribed along the lowered edge: " Des Petites Marchandes Se Dirigent Vers Le Marche." It is an oil on board and dated 1980. Gervais Emmanuel Ducasse was considered the most genuine of the Haitian primitive painters. He was a charming and submissive painter who seemed to have
