Oval surround with decorative acanthus top, engraved inscription within the surround, and coat of arms below. Inscribed: 'IOHANNES HARRIS SAC. THEO. Pro. & R. S. S. A,Russel pinxit Geo: Vertue Sculp: 1719.' In pencil lower left '1696* Originally printed in Harris's The history of Kent in Five Parts: volume 1 (London, 1719). John Harris was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1696.
