Vintage Japanese Hake Flat Wood and Goat Hair Paint Brush elegant plate This hand thrown small plate/dishI picked up this Japanese brush from the studio of an artist's estate sale just because I thought it was pretty. It is a Hake brush, used for blending watercolors and applying gesso, paste, or varnish. The brush features what I believe are goat hair bristles stitched to the wooden handle, which has a hole near the end for hanging. 12" long x 3" wide x 1 4" deep. In good vintage condition, with light wear and some spotting to the wood on one side.
