Portrait of William Parsons, 3rd Earl of Rosse (1800-1867) mb-code 1193375 The church sits on theThree quarter length seated portrait of Lord Rosse, wearing spectacles and looking directly to the viewer, hands clasped lightly at his lap. Rosse wears a dark suit, a white shirt and tie and the blue ribbon and star of the Order of St Patrick. He is painted on a high red leather armchair with a side table upon which rests a book. Lord Rosse was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1831, he served as its President from 1848 to 1854. Original: oil
