I'd like to think she was the carver's mother or grandmother

but at the top of the Department Store (featured on three of them) is the year 1908

and I must admit I am wary of taken more than a few pieces apart for fear of not being able to put it back together

Antique Architectural Wooden Blocks Set in Handmade Hinged Box native American chief I'd like to think sheThese, because I can never resist a nice old set of wooden blocks, and because I feel like one can never have too many nice old sets of wooden building blocks at one's disposal! Later 19th c. I believe, and large enough to occupy me at least for quite a while! The blocks fit together in two layers in their custom handmade box, perhaps missing one small block but no more than that. I'm really not sure why children should need much more to occupy them
