John Watson mb-artistname Michael Brennan The Palladian Horse Guards wasJohn Watson. In 1973 he made his Championship debut in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. In 1976 he won the Austrian Grand Prix for Penske. In 1979 he moved to McLaren and won the 1981 British Grand Prix at Silverstone in the McLaren MP4, which was special because of its carbon fibre chassis. He went on to win the 1982 Belgian and Detroit Grands Prix and the 1983 Long Beach event.
