1984 Painted Eagle Carving by W. Crossley, Cape Cod worlds big tree This set of of chessIve found a handful of other carvings out there signed W. Crossley and dating from the 1970s 80sjust enough to learn that he lived in Cape Cod and that birds native to the area were his thing. I find this eagle a very good one not a bit fussy or showy but rather quite elegant and watchful on its perch, as eagles are, and with a head that also reminds me a bit of a seagull, which makes it feel a bit friendly!
