and there are eight very tiny holes forming a pattern on the front
The head itself is painted a good dark green
on the other between figure with compass at far left and the meeting house "spied" in the distance at right

I've never seen the likes of it before, a paperweight with photograph embedded perfectly framed by cutout heart inside the larger brass heart. Surely a love token, and surely made by a metalsmith, in 1903, I presume for his sweetheart Carrie (or Earrie? but I'm thinking maybe he just added an extra flourish
